Re-using Hoarding Across 3 Projects for Supermarkets

ISG – Re-using Hoarding Across 3 Projects

ISG is delivering several refurbishment projects for one of the UK’s largest supermarkets, Morrisons.

As part of ISG’s drive to achieve ‘Net Gain’ ISG opted to use Fast Fence’s GreenSteel™ sustainable hoarding system across all 3 sites, Cheltenham, Port Talbot, and Small Heath. By opting for a sustainable solution like GreenSteel™ ISG is proactively reducing waste to landfill and eliminating the need for single-use timber.

GreenSteel™ is a premium steel hoarding solution made from a minimum of 83% recycled steel. It can be installed as a portable or in-ground system, its enhanced durability makes it ideal for projects like these.

Re-using Hoarding Across 3 Projects

ISG worked with Fast Fence to plan out a suitable timetable for the same GreenSteel™ hoarding to be used on all three sites. By re-using GreenSteel™ hoarding, ISG has reduced both the overall cost of the hoarding and the time taken to install it on each site. GreenSteel™ is weather resistant and is ideal for long-term projects or multiple projects due to its enhanced durability.

Fast Fence installed over 173m of portable GreenSteel™ using our innovative Blocklocker system, two pedestrian gates and two 6m wide vehicle gates at the Morrisons store in Cheltenham.

Once the Cheltenham store was refurbished, Fast Fence dismantled the GreenSteel™ hoarding and then transported it to the other two sites.

Fast Fence then installed over 96m of portable GreenSteel™ at the Port Talbot Morrisons store and over 59m of GreenSteel™ was installed at the Small Heath Morrisons.

By reusing the GreenSteel™ hoarding ISG has saved over 60% on the supply cost for the hoarding on both the Port Talbot and Small Heath projects.

Terry Heath, ISG project Manager, had never used GreenSteel™ hoarding before but was impressed by its durability. Terry had this to say ‘Very Happy with the system, first time I have used it and will be using Fast Fence again.’

Once the Small Heath and Port Talbot projects are complete, ISG can continue to use the GreenSteel™ hoarding on future jobs.

Fast Fence believes that sustainability should not cost the earth which is why our clients are able to reduce their impact on the environment and on their bottom line with our range of cost effective and closed-loop hoarding solutions.
